How to find the ideal pump (Metering pumps)

Competent advice - for your security

Teamwork - to get the right specification

Choosing the right pump needs experience.

The correct material and configuration depends on many parameters.

As well as delivery volume and pressure, factors such as temperature, flow characteristics, vapour pressure, solids content, corrosivity, toxicity and hygienic requirements have to be considered.

Bran+Luebbe experts are ready to advise you. Our computer data-base contains information on all types of dosing media and their pumping requirements. Our applications laboratory can carry out experiments on your samples. And we can also advise on the correct type of pipework for a successful installation.

1. The correct material for the pump head is selected according to the properties of the pumped medium. For toxic material or exacting requirements for operating security a diaphragm pump is usually the first choice, with a double PTFE or stainless steel diaphragm. For less demanding applications a plunger pump is adequate.

2. The number of pump heads and their configuration is selected. For convenient operation and low space requirement the vertical construction is ideal. We recommend the horizontal type when all pipework has to be at the same level. 3. The exact model is selected on the basis of the required pressure and delivery.
