Problem

Causes

• Pump valves are dirty or damaged:

Clean, replace or regrind the pump valves

• Safety valve is leaking:

Clean safety valve; replace or rework damaged parts.

• Safety valve in operation because of excessive pressure loss in pressure line:

Enlarge nominal width or install air vessel.

• Stuffing box is leaking:

Tighten stuffing box: check piston for wear and if necessary, replace packing.

• Gas or air in the product:

Increase suction pressure.

• Wrong stroke length:

Check and, if necessary, recalculate stroke length.

Diaphragm Pump:

• Vent valve, replenishing valve, or relief valve are leaking

Clean valves; rework damaged parts.

• Gas or air in product or hydraulic chamber:

Vent product or hydraulic chamber.
